Installing the Hazelcast CLC

The Hazelcast Command-Line Client (CLC) is available to install in macOS, Linux, and Windows environments. You can install the Hazelcast CLC, using one of the following:

  • Using an install script on Linux or macOS

  • Windows installer

  • Downloading a pre-built binary

Installing on macOS

The Hazelcast CLC is supported on macOS 15 or newer versions. You can install CLC using either of the following methods:

  • An installation script

  • Manually downloading the binary for your platform

Using the Install Script

Run the following command to install CLC using the provided install script:

curl https://hazelcast.com/clc/install.sh | bash

Manual Installation

You can download a CLC package manually from our Releases page. MacOS compatible packages use the hazelcast-clc-VERSION_darwin_ARCHITECTURE naming format. Ensure that you download the file that matches the architecture of your computer.

You must extract the package once the download is complete. Extracting the package creates a folder. In the following information, we call this folder CLC_FOLDER.

By default macOS only allows installation of binaries from AppStore without further changes to your preferences. The install script automatically handles the required updates. However, if you downloaded a release package, you can do it manually as follows:

$ xattr -d com.apple.quarantine CLC_FOLDER/clc

In the above command, replace CLC_FOLDER with the path of your package folder.

If you prefer, you can copy clc to a directory in your $PATH.

$ sudo cp CLC_FOLDER/clc /usr/local/bin
